At Findlovve, your privacy is not a checkbox. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have. We comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
Name, email address or mobile number, password (stored as a bcrypt hash — never in plain text), and — if you sign up with Google — your Google profile name, email, and profile picture.
Profile information
Age, gender, sexual orientation, city, photos, bio, profession, interests, and matching preferences (age range, gender, distance).
Location
Approximate city-level location (with slight randomization for safety) that you provide during onboarding. We do not track your live GPS.
Content & Communications
Messages you send and receive, super likes, matches, calls (durations only — call content is peer-to-peer over WebRTC and never touches our servers), and reports you file.
Payment information
Findlovve does not store your card numbers, UPI IDs, or bank details. Payments are collected directly via UPI (GPay/PhonePe/Paytm/BHIM/etc.) — you pay from your UPI app; we only record your Order ID, the UPI reference (UTR) you submit, your plan, and expiry date.
Device & usage
Browser type, IP address, device model, timestamps, and crash logs — used only to keep the service running and safe.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create your profile, show you compatible matches, and enable messaging & calls.
- To operate premium features (Plus, Gold) and record your one-time UPI payments.
- To keep users safe — detecting fraud, spam, harassment, minors on the platform, and other policy violations.
- To improve product quality (aggregated, anonymized analytics).
- To comply with legal obligations under Indian law.
3. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. Ever.
We share limited information only with:
- Other users — your public profile fields (name, age, photos, bio, interests, city) as intended by the product.
- Service providers — UPI banks/apps you choose to pay from (we never see your PIN/OTP), MongoDB Atlas / hosting infrastructure, email/SMS providers when you opt in.
- Law enforcement — only when compelled by a valid court order or written request that meets Indian legal standards.
4. Your Rights (under the DPDP Act, 2023)
- Right to access — request a copy of your personal data.
- Right to correction — update inaccurate or incomplete information from your profile or via support.
- Right to erasure — delete your account and all associated data (see Section 6).
- Right to grievance redressal — contact our Grievance Officer (see Contact page).
- Right to withdraw consent — at any time via your profile settings.
5. Data Retention
We keep your account data as long as your account is active. Once you delete your account, we permanently remove your profile within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized data may be retained for analytics. Payment records are retained for 7 years to comply with Indian tax and financial regulations.
6. Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete Account, or by emailing privacy@findlovve.com. Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. Your matches and chat history will be removed from your matched partners' views within 24 hours.
7. Children
Findlovve is for adults 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn of a minor account, we remove it immediately and preserve the data only as long as required to report to authorities.
8. Data Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, bcrypt-hashed passwords, JWT-based authentication, encrypted database storage, and rate-limited APIs. No system is 100% secure — but we do our best. Report suspected security issues to security@findlovve.com.
9. International Transfers
Your data is primarily stored on servers within India. Some third-party services (e.g., Google OAuth) may process data outside India in compliance with their own privacy policies.
10. Cookies & Similar Tech
We use minimal cookies — essentially just an authentication token in localStorage and (for Google OAuth users) a session cookie. We do not use ad-tracking cookies.
11. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we'll notify you via email or an in-app banner at least 15 days before the changes take effect.
